    Still Alive and Kicking

Well I know I haven't been here in forever.  Life has gotten in the way.  I haven't lost anything more but I haven't gained anything back either.  I am hoping to get back in the swing of things now that those events where I have to eat those bad foods are over with ;)

My blood test is in about 2 weeks.  Where has the time gone?  Has it been almost 3 months already?  I have fallen short of my goal to lose 30 punds byt the time I go back but I have lost 20 pounds so that is a lot better than nothing and a hell of a lot better than gaining.  So it's all good.

I also had a couple of weeks where I was down witha cold and then a stomach bug so that didn't help matters much either.

Anyway, I am hoping to get back into this, make it part of my regular routine again.  Wish me luck. lol  Working 2 jobs and keeping the house up is hard enough.

    June 23rd, 2006

Yesterday was a bit better.  For lunch I had my veggie sandwich.  Just one because I put it on rye bread instead of small whole wheat buns.  I also bought something new to try on them.  I bought soy cheese.  It's not half bad but I wouldn't want to eat it just itself.  It's good on sandwiches and so forth.  But it tastes more like Kraft singles than cheddar.  It doesn't have that bite that cheddar does.

For supper I had seasame teryaki noodles with chicken and a salad.  I loke thosr things.  It's a package that takes all of about 15 minutes to make...if you don't put meat in it.  It's Simply Asia who makes them.  The salad, well we have started buying bags of salad but last night we put in fresh radishes from my parent's garden.

I had a bowl of cereal for a snack.  I was in the mood for something sweet.  A rarity for me.  But I did manage to get a lot of exercise yesterday since we did carts.  I think I walked about 4 or 5 miles because I made a couple of tours around the mall....the outside of it, searching for carts.  I am hoping that I can get my office set up soon so I can have my treadmill back.  Right now I have a bunch od stuff piled on top of it.

Anyway, that is my day.  See you all later.

    Completely Fallen Off The Wagon

The last couple of weeks have not been that good where weight loss is concerned.  First thing was when I went to visit my grandparents.  I told them that I had lost 17 lbs so far and though that maybe I would get a little more encouragement from them.  Instead, my grandmother says, "You musy have been pretty heafty because you are still really overweight."

    Gee thanks.

The next thing happened a few days later.  Kimber had her friends over to play.  I was folding laundry at the kitchen counter when I heard Kendra and Kimber coming down the hall.  I heard Kendra say., "Come on, Kimber.  Let's go find you fat momma."

    Excuse me?

The final blow was this morning when I weighed in.  I have gained 3.5 lbs.  Not a good week, as I have said.  I have just been so busy that my meals have been the grab and go kind.  I haven't really felt up for much more than that let alone proper exercise and by the time my day winds down, I am ready to fall on my face.  But I am working on getting back to it.  I am a little discouraged because of the events of the last week, but I am going to try and not let it get to me.

    Update

Well it has been a crazy few days.  I weighed myself on Friday like I always do and was disappointed that I lost only 0.2 lbs.  I blame Terry. It was that time of the month and he made chocolate chip cookies.  Not a good thing.  At least I still lost insteadof gained I guess.

The yard sale gave me a lot of exercise, hauling it all out there and putting it all back each day.  I made some money too.  It pretty much consumed every waking moment though so that is why I haven't updated.  And today I walked to the mall wil Kimber....but had to carry her the 2.5 miles home.  I thought I was going to die.  Then I had to babysit the 2 neighbor kids for about 5 hours.  They left shortly before midnight.  I am beat.

I think a hot soak is in order then bed.

    Finally!!

Well I am back.  Spaces has been a thorn in my side the last few days and I have not been able to get in.  But it seems like things are now back on track with them.  It looks like they did a little updating again.  Perhaps that has something to do with it.

I don't have my meal plans for those days.  I usually doit by memory but seeing as it has been a few days....I will just do yesterday.

I didn't eat a lot yesterday because it was just so hot outside and my house was like an oven.  I had a few fish sticks for lunch and for supper we had pork chops done in the oven with Zatarain's Black Beans and rice and salad.

I hate it when it is this hot.  You don't feel like doing anything.  You don't want to cook because it will just add to the heat.  Not fun.  But You still have to do it at some point.

    June 10th, 2006

Yesterday was a fend for yourself day.  It was just a messed up kind of day where no one felt like cooking so we just had things like left overs.

I had the other half od my chicken and muhroom fettuccini for supper.  For lunch/breakfast I had egg sanwiches.  Like I said, fend for yourself kind of day.

We did a lot more re arranging in the house.  And I must tell you.  The people who built this place were nnot very swift.

I think one thing I have learned is that losing weight isn't just about what you eat but how much of it you eat.  Portion sizes are what is most important.  You can eat the not so good stuff but you have to watch how much of you eat.  Like eggs.  Eggs are good for you, but they are also bad.  They are not great for cholesterol but if you don't eat them every day and only have one or two, then you most likely won't have many ill effetcs.

Anyway, I am going to leave it here for now.

    June 9th, 2006

Yesterday was a lazy day.  I fiddled around on the computer and that was about it.  It was raining and yucky but my spirits were still high from stepping on the scales.  I just just didn't feel like doing anything.  Today will be different though.  I have lots to do.

My meals were similar yesterday as they were the day before.  For lunch I had the tuna salad again.  Just seemed easiest since it was already made, and since I wasn't feeling all that active, it just spoke to me. LOL

For supper I had that Spcy Salsa Chicken Grill.  I love that stuff.  And when had rice and salad with it.  Yummy.  I am getting used to eating salad.  I never thought I would.  But now I am just buying the premade stuff in the bags.  They seem to work quite well for us.

I have gotten to the point where I don't need to count my calories on a day to day basis unless I add something new to my diet.  I have gotten to the point that I just know how many calories I have taken in, maybe not the exact number but I know I am in my range.  I am still going to post what I eat on a dialy basis, but I may forgo the calories unless I come across something new.  It's a time saver really.  With working the new job and it being summer and having hordes of things that need to get done, time is short. :)

I also want to thank everyone that has stuck with me, both her in spaces and outside of it.  To be honest, I had doubts about being able to lose weight.  I had tired before but never put any effort to it.  We would make one trip to the store and buy a few fruits and veggies with the intention of losing weight, but it never stuck.  It was like I was slapped in the face and woken up.  Now I can see my own potential, my own strengths and yes, my own weaknesses.  But now I know that I have people that will back me up with those weaknesses turn their ugly heads, even if they are thousands of miles away.

ALso, if you want a few chuckles, take a look at my photo album.  I have some weight loss cartoons there that were sent to me that I think you all will get a chuckle out of.  Well not all of them are weightloss but I am sure you all can identify with them anyhow. LOL

    June 8th, 2006 - Weigh in Day

Well holy cow!  I was not expecting to have lost anything yet again.  After the week that I had and not being able to afford healthy food, I would almost have expected to have gained a couple of pounds but I didn't.  I have lost another 4 pounds!!!!!!  Can you believe it?  That makes it a total of 16.8 pounds so far.  I also measured my wasit and it is down another inch.  So I have lost 3.5 inches on my waist so far.  For kicks, I also took my body fat.  When I started it was at 40.0 and now I am at 39.3 so I guess I have really stopped losing water and am no working on the fat.  It must be the fact that I kept so active this last week that it has made up for the unhealthy food I have had to eat.

Yesterday was kind of erratic in eating.  I was so busy that I didn't realize that I hadn't eaten until I was starving.  I also didn't keep track of calories but I fairly certain I was under because I barely ate anything until supper.

    Lunch

    • Tuna salad on soursough english muffins x2

    Supper

    • 1/2 chicken musroom fettucini
    • 2 small pieces pf pizza bread
    • 5 mushroom garlic caps
    • 1 piece of garlic toast
    • 1% milk

Yeah I know not a great supper but like I said, I barely ate anything before.  As you can see.

One thing I am wondering.  Can losing weight have an effect on your period?  I had all the crankiness and so forth but nothing eve came of it.  Can a sudden shock to your system make your period go off in a confused stae of mind?  I am hoping so because I don't really care for the alternative.

Scratch that last question.  I started today lol.  My body reading my mind I guess.

Hey all, so I tried something new last night.  We finally managed to remember to buy some Mrs. Dash and I went to the website to see what recipes they had there and I found one that I really enjoyed.  Definitely one of those ones that I am going to put into my keep section.  It's called Grilled Cirtus Dijon Mustard Chicken and it was really good.

    Update

Again, sorry I haven't updated nor visited.  Things have been kind of off kilter and probably will be until we get paid in about a week and a half.  We just can't afford to eat healthy.  Sad isn't it?  But I am trying to eat less of the bad stuff that we do have and can afford.  In a way it makes it stretch further.

I have also been on an emotional roller coaster these last few days.  That really hasn't helped much either.  Plus Terry made Peanut Butter Chip cookies last night.  God...you know how hard it is to not eat those by the boat load?  Very.

Anyway, tomorrows meal plan I am going to try and get back on track.  I am going to try posting again on a regular basis.  I am getting a lot of work done around here but it just never seems to be enough.  AT least there will always be something for me to do, right?

    June 1st, 2006 - Weigh in Day

Seriously, I hadn't thought I had lost anything but I managed to drop another 2 pounds this week.  I have been struggling this last week.  But it is not only because of will power etc but financial.  I am finding that eating healthier is quite expensive.  Perhaps closer to the summer the prices will go down.

    May 31st, 2006

Yesterday was another day like the one before it.  I ate here and there, not really able to keep track.  I did walk to Tim Horton's and back twice though, once with Kimber in the afternoon and once with my parents in the evening.  It took about 15 minutes each way with my parents and about a half hour with Kimber.

That being said, I am not feeling too optimistic about tomorrow's weight in.  I stepped on the scale yesterday and I hadn't lost anything.  Granted it was later in the day so it's hard to say what will come of it.  Ah well, tomorrow morning will tell.
    May 31

    May 30th, 2006

Well I didn't really have a meal plan for yesterday.  Things were just kind of crazy as I had a friend of Kimber's over, did a bunch of work around the house, plus work for my job and was in and out of the house all day.  But I was careful not to get too wil with the eating.

Plus, today, I am just too tired to care. LOL  I got lots of sleep last night but I just can't seem to wake up.  At least the sun is finally shining again.  Today I should get my exercise since my lawn needs mowing, I have to walk over to my moms to fax something and since my parents have quit smoking again, we are going to go for a walk sometime today, probably after Terry gets home from work since we aren't going to take Kimber because they want to go for a brisk one and not the slow sort of walk that you have to do with a 3 year old.

Anyway, I am going to get out of here for now.  Ciao.
